Meet Mayor Glover
Shannon E. Glover, the dedicated Mayor of Portsmouth, Virginia, brings a unique blend of military discipline, civic leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit to his role.
A proud Norfolk State University graduate, Glover’s journey in public service began with an honorable stint in the U.S. Navy, laying a foundation of discipline and commitment.
Since moving to Portsmouth in 1990, he has immersed himself in the community, starting his own business in 2004 and serving on various local boards.
Elected to the City Council in 2017 and Mayor in 2020, Glover focuses on equitable education, economic growth, health initiatives, and public safety.
His vision for Portsmouth is rooted in sustainable development, community engagement, and a deep-seated belief in serving with integrity. Glover’s leadership is marked by his dedication to creating a thriving, inclusive, and forward-looking Portsmouth.
